Pier 39

Since I am not going anywhere for my spring break, I think I can make a better use of my free time. I`ll read and take pictures every day. Today, my friends and I were planning on taking a tour to Alcatraz, unfortunately the tickets were sold out until Sunday. Instead we just walked around the Pier and enjoying the warm weather (it rained at night!). Here are some pictures I took today.

Academy of Sciences

Quick note: Last weekend I got the chance to take a short trip to Academy of Sciences. I can`t believe after being here for couple of years, that was my first time visiting. Museums always fascinate me, and this one has it all (planetarium, aquarium and museum). So imagine my excitement of being there.

Standing inside the rainforest dome made me feel like home, it`s really humid and hot. With the butterflies flying free and tropical plants everywhere it was built like a real forest. The next one is the planetarium.  Before going to the museum my friends reminded me to not miss this one. It`s the largest digital dome in the world (75-foot diameter projection with 30 degree angle). Well it didn`t disappoint at all. For the whole time I felt like I was flying (some parts it was like roller coaster). Unfortunately, the motion gave me nausea. But it was truly an amazing experience. Last one is the aquarium, I don`t know know where to start. I was sitting in front of this giant glasses and never wanting to leave. I could sit and stare at the fishes swimming around for hours! Apparently that is too the deepest exhibits in the world. It was just so peaceful. I definitely am going back there again, just for the fishes :) There are so many things on earth that are worth preserving, I`d give you that.

Fleet Week

It`s a fleet week in San Francisco! I was really enjoying the weather, the blue angels and of course men in the uniform. I am glad that I didn`t need to hear them soared over the city from my room, and the loud noise really gave me headache the other day. These are some pictures I snapped from the pier with the new fish eye lens I just got (still trying to get used to the manual focus setting). My friends and I were about to take the ship tour but I didn`t have my a government-issued photo ID with me so we couldn`t get in (I really have to go to DMV sometime soon). I look super geeky with the helmet on :( The blue angels are dancing in the sky
