Lots of love, and cookies.

This year is a pretty special year for me. I finally got the chance to celebrate Chinese New Year after 3 years not being able to. I remember clearly last year I went to China Town hoping to find a place where I would feel like home. That meant a lot of fireworks, dragons dance, firecrackers, lanterns, cookies, etc. Turned out it`s as dead as any other place. I was truly disappointed. This year things seemed to be a bit different. Even though it`s a short trip but it`s definitely worth it. I didn`t do or participate in the rituals and the religious ceremony (at all), but I was glad that I was home to hang out with my family and friends. I ate lots of cookies, cake, candies, ice cream, and home-cooked-meals (the best). Oh and I still got red pockets even though I am considered to old to get any. Hahaha.. the advantage of not being married that`s it. Those are why I am going to be really sad that I have to leave again tomorrow. So long Indonesia, you`ll be missed.

I don`t think I`ll ever get tired of looking at the lanterns. Reminds me of the movie Tangled. So pretty. Some people do tend to overdecorate their house. I am just one of those who enjoy and admire from afar, trying to capture the scary dragons with my camera. But two thumbs up for these people.

It is a custom for people who are already married to give red pockets to those who are younger (children).

.. and wearing red on the first day (credits to Bobby Bong)

Coffee+beach = perfect moment..
